My First Etsy Store

I haven’t written any posts lately, I’ve been so busy this fall with craft fairs I can hardly keep up. I’ve finally got a break now for Christmas and I’m almost all caught up, I just have one hat to make for a friend, and one sweater.

So last night I started my first Etsy shop. I decided to only add hats, I wanted my shop to not be overwhelming with lots of products, I think it’s best to keep it simple, for now at least. I’ve added all the hats I’ve made this fall on my new Addi Express knitting machine, well, the ones I have not sold already. It took forever, like two hours, to add 22 hats. I don’t know how some people can add hundreds of listings. Right now I do not like how my thumbnails look, I guess I zoomed in too much on each picture, so the thumbnails do not show the whole product. I do plan on fixing that and being careful to avoid this problem next time I take photos for the store.

I hope to get some more hats made, I do not have any bun hats online, so I plan on making those, and I want to make hats with stripes of reflective yarn as well, for night time walking and running. However, I can not find any reflective wool so I guess I’ll have to buy it online, I hope Red Heart still makes it.

Once I get some bun hats made, my next project will be hats with removable pompoms, so that the hat can be washed and dried by machine. I have been buying faux fur pompoms online and they came with a loop on them, I though the loop was for sewing them on, turns out its a button hole, duh. So I’ll start sewing buttons on the inside of the hat and wrapping the loop around the button. So much easier than what I’ve been doing.
