Today I made a pussy hat. I found the free instructions at Ravelry. You can use any size needles and wool so I chose to use Bernat Roving wool in flint, and size 10.00 mm circle needles, that were 40 cm long. To start I cast on 60 stitches and knit 2 purl 2 for two inches. Then I knit until the hat was 8 inches from cast on stitches. I cast off with the kitchener stitch, just because I like the way it looks. You can find the instructions for that at Craftsy.

This is how it looks when you are finished. The cat ears don’t have a shape until you wear it.
