Today’s project was a dog bandana. I like making these reversible. This one is Christmas themed and I’m making it for a friend.
You will need two triangles of fabric.
Size of triangles to cut:
Small: 14″ x 14″ x 20″
Medium: 17″ x 17″ x 24″
Large: 20″ x 20″ x 28 1/4″
Extra Large: 22 1/2″ x 22 1/2″ x 32″
I found a pack of Christmas fabric at Walmart. So the plaid came from that. The red fabric is broadcloth that I already had.
Place the good sides together and sew around the edges of the triangle. Leave a space in the middle of the long side to turn right side out.
I sewed with the fabric on the edge of my foot, so a 1/4 inch seam.
Pivot at the corners.
This is the space that I left to turn right side out.
Clip the corners closely, they are going to be hard to sew over when you top stitch. Instead of just cutting off the tip of the triangle in a straight line, I cut both side of the tip off, to reduce the bulk.
Turned right side out, now I just need to top stitch all the way around the bandanna.
Top stitch the opening closed first then continue all the way around to have a nice finish.
The finished bandana!!
